There are two opposing expressions that have difficulty with:

  1. You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar.
  2. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

How do we know which one applies to any given situation?

My personality has always geared toward the first method of operation. I don’t like making waves, I don’t like confrontation or conflict and in some cases, I can’t afford to alienate people that I have to have in my life (personally or professionally).

However, I have recently been faced with some professionals that are behaving quite unprofessionally. If I could fire them I would, but since I made what I have since come to see as a mistake in paying a large, flat fee for ongoing services, along with a monthly charge, they still owe me a lot.

What happened to “The customer is always right?”

What happened to professional ethics and integrity?

In one instance, I sent one email a week for eight weeks and then two a week for the following three weeks. (I was told that calling was not the way to contact them.)

Why do I have to feel that I have to threaten to get a response? Which, by the way, hasn’t worked yet.

I have already asked for a new account manager and this second one is as unresponsive as the first one. I have too much money invested to just ‘fire’ them, so what else can I do.

I am afraid to call now because I am so irritated with my current account manager that if I talk to her, I don’t think I’ll be able to keep the contempt out of my voice.

I don’t know how this situation will play out, but I will always try being nice first.

May you perceive and receive all your blessings.

With Much Love,

Rev. Michele
