Very few of us, if any, have gotten to this point in our lives without experiencing crushing loss, and/or traumatic, life-changing or derailing events: Events that changed us at our core (our personality and spirit).

The most common answers to this question will be:

–         Abuse – (includes physical, mental, emotional, and sexual abuse, bullying, molestation, violation, victimization)

–         Abandonment (which has many versions)

–         Neglect/deprivation

–         Trauma

–         Loss

–         Injury

–         Illness/ disease

–         Addiction

–         Poverty

–         Weight Issues, Eating Disorder

–         Limiting Labels

–         Failure

In actually, there is only one answer: Your Mind.  To be more specific, Your Thoughts. (Dr. Bruce Lipton in The Biology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter, & Miracles calls thoughts the “energetic mind.”)

Every “bad” experience is linked with a thought, often subconscious, and that thought is linked to or triggers a feeling. Feelings, as energy in motion, are meant to be acknowledged, examined, understood, and released/forgiven. They are subconscious messengers for learning lessons.

If you are holding pain, regret, guilt, resentment, anger, or shame, toward anyone, especially yourself, then you haven’t overcome anything. Those experiences, those people, still have power over you: they control your thoughts, feelings, and maybe even your success in relationships and/or your career, your health, your well-being.

Often, the subconscious thoughts come out in your body, trying to make you aware that they need to be dealt with. Even if you don’t know what your thoughts are because they are subconscious, you can still eradicate them by putting in or programming in new, productive thoughts about each difficult experience, including forgiving all people involved. This will heal those experiences. Without it, you are still energetically bound to each experience and each person.

Our job as conscious beings is to return to our original self by releasing all that “derailed” us in the form of changing our thoughts.

May you perceive and receive all your blessings.

With Much Love,

Rev. Michele
